When it comes to access, sometimes less is more

We have a small team, so one of the first things I did was go in the opposite direction and reduce permissions across the board, making event defining less available to everyone, so we didn’t have a big mess. I let everyone know they could have more access if they needed it, but not one person has said they need more. They cannot edit the data set but they can run and publish reports. Everyone's okay with using what we already have, and that helps keep things manageable.

What approaches do others use to manage their events and properties?

We have a pretty small team as well and set up permissions in a very similar way! If someone ever has the desire to define a new event in the shared space, I have them walk me through how they defined it in their personal space and how they want to use it in reporting. Often times we come up with an even better definition together!

Heap can be very overwhelming for our non-power users and restricting permissions keeps our account super clean, manageable, and trustworthy.
