We know how important it is to look up user- and session-level data in Heap, so we’re splitting up the Users & Sessions view into two separate views for easier, faster lookup:

  • Sessions view will allow you to immerse yourself in a user’s session experience, whether you’re troubleshooting, or just reviewing what they did before and after a specific event. If you have session replay, you’ll see your replays here, otherwise, you’ll see all the events that occurred in a session.
  • Users view will continue to be the hub for user-level properties for you to look up user details and build user lists.

Watch this video to see these views in action and learn how can use them to find the answers you’re looking for:

While most Heap teams have been using the Users & Sessions view for the past six months, some accounts have still been using the older view, which showed users and sessions properties in one view. As we begin rolling out these new views more broadly, the older, dual-column legacy Users view will be discontinued. In the next week, log into your Heap account to confirm the exact date your legacy Users view will no longer be available. If you have any concerns, please contact your Customer Success Manager or Support.

We know some of you are big fans of the legacy Users view. If you’re one of those fans, we’d love to get you into an early beta for the new Sessions view, so you can test it out and help shape the roadmap. If you’re interested, let us know by filling out this quick form.
