I’m just getting started with Heap and Visual Labeling doesn’t work past the home page for us. It works on the home page, I’ve named events there, but if I click navigate page and go to another page the toolbar doesn’t come back up.

Hi there!Is there a way client-side (through the API or in cookies) to see all user properties added for the current user? I’d like to confirm that user properties are consistent across the user journey.Also, if we add user properties before the user is identified, are these carried over? Hi there!What’s the best way to track several checkbox values once we submit a form or trigger a custom event for the submission?Essentially we get a list of values of all the selected options and we’re want to see all those listed or grouped. We tried adding the values as custom event properties but we can only group by a max of 4 properties, and we might get more than just 4 values per event.Any help and recommendations are appreciated ~

I’m trying to set up Heap for my company and I’ve run into an issue that I can’t get to the bottom of. We are running a React based web app that has many unique routes, but the data we see looks like this: Even though when I go to the visual labling tool, it seems to understand it’s on a specific route, as it offers the correct path for any given page: We are using React version 18.2 and React-Router version 5.2, if that matters in any way. Not sure what other data may be relevant.What can cause this? Is there some Heap settings I have to tweak? Is there something I need to look at with our configuration? My impression was that as long as unique URLs are there Heap would pick them up.Thanks!

We had a Penetration test failure, due to our Heap installation. `The application may be vulnerable to DOM-based cookie manipulation. Data is read from document.referrer and passed to document.cookie.``The application may be vulnerable to DOM-based client-side JSON injection. Data is read from document.cookie and passed to JSON.parse. `I’m trying to make the business case for upgrading our account, but it looks like we’ll need to remove Heap from the app, until this is resolved.Is there an alternative approach to the installation or some sort of settings that we can adjust to fix this?Thank you.
After installing Heap on my website, the browser console logs warnings that look like this:Cookie “_hp2_hld7255454253732262.951754921” has been rejected for invalid domain. Is something misconfigured in my project or does anyone know how to properly set up Heap so these warnings are not present?I’m using Firefox, but the warnings do not seem to happen when I try with Safari.

We’re really interested in understanding how much time our users spend editing/recording details in a specific module of our application. I can easily see how many times they click or make a change to a field in Heap, and I was able to get an “average time between events” of when they made a change to when they next clicked “anywhere outside that element”, but I’d really like to get a better understanding of how long people are spending “active on this page” or something like that. In session replay, for example, I can see “User is idle for XX:XX”, but it’s not clear how/if I could report on something like “time on this page minus time that is idle”.Any ideas, or anyone done something similar? I did find an old stack exchange post about tracking page view time by calling a custom event when the user leaves the page, but because of the expected idle time here, I’m not sure that will work for us very well.
Hello!I pulled some session id level data for Jan ‘24 a couple of weeks ago, and I pulled the same data again this week. The count is slightly different, with two more session id’s showing up in the new run. My question is how is it possible to get extra new sessions for a fixed timeframe? Note that the same thing has been observed with Feb ‘24 and Mar ‘24 (two extra session id’s for both months).Happy to provide the session id’s if needed.Best,Nick
When I select to view ‘Unique users’ in a chart, Heap by default adds an ‘Average’ line at the bottom. How can I remove this by default? This average doesn’t make sense when looking at a table of metrics showing a funnel e.g. Total Unique Users in line 1, sign up in line 2, trial start in line 3.

I am trying to understand the best way to implement sensitive data redaction. As far as I could see, there are two options to do so: indicate data to be redacted either in application source code or in the Heap UI. What is the difference between these 2 options? Am I right that if we choose to indicate this data in source code, we prevent sending data in non-masked form to the Heap Cloud at all? And if we choose the setting in the Heap UI, am I right that the data before reaching the Heap Cloud is sent from our apps in non-masked form?
Hello,I have created a few funnel charts using custom events and I have confirmed that the events are being sent correctly however they aren’t all showing up in the funnel chart.It’s strange as some of the the events show up in the funnel chart and some do not show up at all.I can find all the events in heap if I look for them.Maybe it could have something to do w. authentication?The events I send pre-auth all seem to show up in the funnel report.
Hi, I’ve signed up for a trial of Heap as it looks good for our needs, and installed it onto a dev environment. I can see results coming in for some events, but if I try and create a heat map, I enter my filter details, and then Heap sits there for a couple of minutes with a spinner before coming up with an error For Sessions, if I turn off Only show sessions with replays, sessions show up after a short pause, however if I do only show sessions with replays it is empty Any suggestions on how to get this going?

Hi everybody, I’m trying to set up a user funnel in heap where a user can add up to 3 items to a list before they are blocked and hit a paywall. I’m trying to understand how many added 1 then lost interest, added 2 then lost interest and for those who added 3 - how many tried to add a fourth and hit the block and how many just lost interest at that point. How would you advise me to set that up?
