I have a few funnels where I’ve created both a multi-step Funnel Report, as well as a “Usage Over Time” report using the “Conversion Rate Between” definition to look at overall conversion rate over time (between the first and last steps of the funnel). I’ve noticed on the Funnel Report, there is a “within” selector where you can choose if the conversion window covers the entire range, a single session or some other length of time. It looks like “Entire Range” is the default, and this is what I am using However for the “Conversion Rate Between”, the “within” selector is not available. So I’m wondering if there is a default value used in this instance. If the default is “entire range”, that would be great. Thanks
Problem with Launch visual labeling for iOS Event Visualizer for iOS in Stage: cannot connect phone (Scan this QR code says No usable data found)
we are about to launch new Mobile app (not in Apple store yet, but on TestFlight pointed to our Stage env). I need to create analytics and want to use Visualizer. Did following steps:Logged into my App via Apple phone to make sure it is active Open page “Launch visual labeling for iOS”, tried to scan QR code to pair my device with HEAP Scanning gave me an error - No usable data There is also instruction (You can also use the legacy pairing gesture...) that i did not get how it works. Any suggestions what to do and how i can connect my device? Thank you in advance
Hi everyone, I have two segments created in Heap. Let’s call them Segment A and Segment B. Segment A has 4314 usersSegment A Segment B has 381 usersI want to create a report that gives me unique session count in a way that it includes all users in Segment A minus Segment B. I have tried creating this report as shown below but it’s not giving me Segment A minus Segment B. It’s returning this number. What am I doing wrong and how can I set it up so it does Segment A-B? Any help here is appreciated. Thanks
i want to generate a DAU metric card, but not based on a single day -- e.g., today or yesterday -- but on an average of DAUs over a specific timespan -- e.g., last 7 days.something like the following formula: Average(DAU1, DAU2, … DAU7)if i graph DAU with Date Range = “Last 7 Days” and Grouped By = “Day” and format as “Table”, the aggregating metric (far-right) is Average. this value is exactly what i want, but i want the value displayed via a Metric Card; unfortunately, the metric card, in this case, will only be the DAU value from the previous (or current?) day.while this is a specific use case i describe, more generally i wanted to analyze unique counts and run those through an aggregation formula -- in this example, Average -- for display as in a Metric Card.Note: i want this metric card as an element in a Heap dashboard. i recognize i could output a CSV of the results, and compute the Average elsewhere, but that is not feasible for my broader usage.
We have a funnel that traverses two domains. Our goal is to track user traffic across those domains to get a complete picture of user engagement. Since our visitors will always have an email address, and that email address is always passed via query string from one domain to the other, email is an ideal candidate to use as an identifier. We parse the query string to get the email and then assign that value to the heap object via the identify function: heap.identify(email); This same logic is performed on the second domain. Code for both is included via GTM.I was expecting “Identity” to display in User Properties in Definitions, but it does not. Is there something more we need to do? The documentation mentions using heap.identity, but that seems to be a basic get function that returns, in our case, the email address we set using heap.identify(). What are we missing?
We need to track events for a wilcard routing and I am unable to launch it using the Visualizer. It says the below error. Our app is able to track all the user defined events, custom events which are incorporated but it is unable to load the site using the Visualizer. I have checked the CORS, third party app blockers, and defining of the heap in the headers all looks good. Not sure what might be an issue. Kindly help us to resolve the issue as it is a major impact for our business to track the user events through the dashboard. Any help is highly appreciated.
Greetings, Heap Community! I’m Piper and I work on our Scaled Adoption team here at Heap. If you’ve been to any HUG meetings lately, you might have seen me floatin’ around :) I’m looking to chat with some current Heap users about any moments of struggle or frustration during your implementation and adoption of Heap. These moments could be with the platform itself or with the roll out to your team or really any aspect of your journey thus far. While we strive to make every moment of your partnership with us a dream, we know that can’t always be the case. I work on a team dedicated to getting as many users as possible closer to their dream Heap experience, and hearing insight directly from all of YOU is often the best way to help us in our mission. If you’ve got something on your mind and would be willing to spend 30 (or 15! or 5! Every second counts!) minutes chatting with me, throw a comment below! I’ll get in touch to schedule a time that works best for you. THANK YOU in advance fo
Is there a way to count unique sessions where an event or page visit happened? For example my product has a dashboard and I’d like to analyze how many times per month or quarter users visit the dashboard. For example to get a report that says XY% visit dashboard 5x per month, ZZ% visit dashboard 10x per month etc. Counting each visit doesn’t exactly cover this because some users move back and forth, visiting the dashboard multiple times per session.
We constantly struggle with search filtering in “group by” dropdowns on reports due to how Heap does filtering. The issue for us is that we have a property called “Program” and also have event definitions with “Program” in the name. For example, we have one event called Program > Sign Up > Complete > Any to represent a sign up completion in any of our 5 programs. However, if I search the dropdown to find the “program” property, it filters the EVENT NAME too and shows me all of it’s properties. This is useless in this case and actually makes me wonder how many people search this dropdown by event name vs the property name. For us, we never expect or want to search by property name. With currently behavior, I have to scroll this full list to find the property and it’s so frustrating because the filtering essentially does not help.
Hey folks, so I created a report on sources of traffic to our site. And got this as a first result: Initial Landing Page = “No data”, Initial Referrer = “DIRECT” had a big spike up. What does that mean? Are those bots, unfinished session loading, 404?
Hello Everyone,I’m trying to send server side events to heap and tried out the API from the documentation.I did notice a strange behaviour - for a new user identity if a single event is submitted, there is no parsing being done.If I goto the user section in there, all I see is a user without the identity present, is there a reason for this?Practically, it probably won’t hurt much granted we have multiple events for the same user identity fired. But this just feels a bit incomplete, and opens up possibility of slight inconsistencies.Regards,Thihara
Is there a simple way to build a report on these lines ?show the most frequent events for a group of users compare two groups’ most frequent events (e.g. those who became leads according to Salesforce data vs those that didn’t Any advice gratefully received, thank youJulian
Hi there, we’ve build www.feeting.app. An app to turn your sitting meetings into walking ones. We’re using Heap to track usage. We also want to track how many people tap the ‘Hide steps and distance for others’ toggle on this screen: For some reason Heap doesn’t register this tap. We’re using React Native. What are we doing wrong? Or what else can we do to make sure that Heap measures every tap on that toggle?
Hi all,We're unable to connect our Development (ID: 1173190626) and Production (ID: 2383593008) we apps to our Salesforce account platform. We have the following user attributes to use as primary keys: - Heap: Platform Account ID - Salesforce: PUP Account ID Also have the emails, but we are not being able to add it. Already went through the entire Salesforce integration guide. However, when selecting the attributes below: I don't get any information when clicking on the SELECT JOIN KEY button. Can someone from your end support us?Best regards,Bernardo Madeira
I’d love to have greater flexibility with date comparisons by selecting the “Custom” option. Two different situations come to mind that I can’t do today in Heap UI (or at least can’t figure out how to do):Compare the entire month of July to June. I can select July, but it forces me to choose a comparison time period that’s also 31 days. We see a lot of activity on our sites the last day of the month, so if I’m including May 31st in with June (to make it 31 days), it’ll skew the results. Compare one promotion to another. Let’s say one promotion ran for 5 days and another ran for 3 days. Since they’re for varying lengths of time, it won’t allow me to select those time periods to compare.
We create dashboards all the time but the way heap is designed now, you have to make so many reports to support different views. The main problem stems from fact that dashboards cannot be saved with filters applied (at the dashboard level).Scenario:I have 2 product lines: Foo and Bar.I want to have a dashboard that shows:Traffic to Foo product pages Sign Up conversion for Foo Purchase Conversion for FooThe natural thing you want is to create 3 generic reports that can be filtered on product line. You add these 3 reports to a dashboard and save one instance of it filtering (at the dashboard level) for Product=Foo, and another version of the SAME dashboard, but filtering product=bar. This then allow me to have 3 reports powering 2 dashboards. My only choices now are:have 3 reports with 1 dashboard and teach everyone how to use filters create 6 reports (3 filtered on Foo, and 3 filtered on Bar) and create 2 unique dashboards Heap would be so much more powerful if my ideal scenario was
Would love more powerful filtering with AND and OR logic. Often times we have complex queries that we would greatly benefit from nested AND and OR combinations. For example, we cannot logically make this a filter: Without this support, I now have to make multiple events, then combo events which makes things harder to manage.
Hi everyone! We have noticed that some user accounts are not being accurately tracked by Heap. I wanted to post what we are seeing here and see if anyone has seen something similar before. First, some details:We use heap to track user both on the website (both publicly-accessible and login-required parts) and on emails we send using SendGrid. Our Heap instance is installed using Google Tags. For us to email users using SendGrid, they first must register on the website. As a part of user registration, we pass certain custom details about the user to Heap. We noticed discrepancies of two types:For some users (about 10% of accounts), Heap seems to only track the email activity. We found no records for website usage for those users. For some users (about 3-4%), Heap tracks activity on the website, but Heap record doesn’t contain the information we pass to Heap (associated user email the custom details I mentioned above). Questions:For 10% of accounts issue: Would it be the case that Heap
