Is there a way to view a list of all the account properties that is comparable to how the user analysis is presented? My developer was asking for an easy way to quickly validate enabling the Account Properties API. The best I could come up with was creating a report that groups by the account properties but I am limited to 4.
Hey everyone. We are using S3 Connection to load data to our Lakehouse. We implemented the identity resolution as per documentation here https://help.heap.io/heap-connect/heap-connect-guide/identity-resolution/What we have noticed is that the user_migrations table always contains only up to 250K rows and as the table strategy for ingestion is not incremental, we are missing on some of the identity resolution for our events and sessions. Is this expected behaviour and known limitation? We haven’t found anything in the documentations mentioning this. Is there a workaround we could rely on?Thanks.
Hi everyone,I'm trying to compute our user accounts age based on the user property createdAt. Following a simple MY SQL coding logic I intend to get the TIMESTAMPDIFF(year, createdAt, now()) to create a new property.Did someone faced this issue before? We have Heap connected to our Salesforce account, however I think if we can compute the account's age directly in Heap it will be easier.Best regards, Bernardo Madeira
Hey Heap Community! We’re in the midst of planning and trying to resource for a data lake solution like Snowflake or BigQuery, but it’s at least a few hires away and a few months off. I’ve been looking into other solutions in the short -term to join Heap data with some of our other data sources and came across the Zapier integration that could work for what we’re trying to do. I’m curious if anyone has used it before, if you’ve seen success with it or if there’s another integration that could automate a flow of data from Heap! Thanks!
Currently extra added properties are being track in every browser even in incognito mode, but when it comes to Firefox, in private mode custom properties are not being tracked with the event, is there any way to track these custom properties in private mode of Firefox?
Hi all,I have salesforce connected to Heap, but I can't create a segment based on Salesforce Account Name. I hav the field available and I can only use it in the filter section when creating a report. This doesn't make much sense to me because it doesn't let me optimize my reports. By creating a segment it's much easier and faster to filter my reports.Hope you can explain me the reason why this is happening.Best regards,Bernardo
I lead our Marketing Analytics team here at Databricks. Databricks is a pre-IPO company leading the Data+AI space that continues to double revenue and size each year! We are moving as a company to our core metrics and business based on product consumption rather than traditional B2B sales pipeline. This means marketing, our self-service funnel, web analytics, and product analytics is at the forefront. I am looking for a senior web analyst who can help lead the charge on this transition. Own our core web data tools (which of course includes Heap), the flow and configuration of the data, analysis, onboard a CDP, and much more. If this sounds like you or someone you know… message me!
Salesforce uses email as the unique identifier. Marketo uses the Person ID. If I use the different identifiers for each integration, does the data ultimately all come together on the Heap Identity? Just want to make sure I don’t have to make adjustments for all integrations to have the same unique identifier in order to get the level of data enrichment and continuity that I need.In my mind I need to make email the same identifier for everything so that it all syncs together but that can’t be the right way to do this--especially when you have several data sources all enriching the customers Heap Identity.
Hey there! First day on the job as a PM and first day using Heap (during my last gig I strictly used Segment/Mixpanel).Curious: is there a way to define a combo event using an “and” operator? I am trying to create a custom event definition in the Heap interface, which Heap calls “combo” events, and before asking an engineer to write in a custom event tracking call, I’m curious if I can define one myself using a combination of several Heap autocapture events that reliably fire off whenever a user performs a specific action.(Don’t mind the silly placeholder event name)Thanks!
Hi everyone,I’m new to the product :)I would like to define some segments using already defined other segments. (for instance to exclude a defined list of users, without actually type them each time). Also how can I use an already defined property in order to define other property? Thanks a lot!
You're a PM Pro now, but if you took a trip in the Way Back machine, what concepts/ language/ theories/ practices did you have to learn early on to really rock it out today? I'm particularly interested in hearing from folks who stumbled into their roles as PMs, and probably don't have a business studies background (like me - English Lit major). For example, I didn't know a lot about statistics when I started at Heap, so I did some reading/research on basic concepts/applications to better understand the types of data-driven decisions PMs need to make. In what areas did you need to level up or fill in gaps before you REALLY got it?
I setup Heap several weeks ago and initially everything worked as expected including the Event Visualizer.Recently however, I’ve been encountering an issue with the Event Visualizer where when I click on an element, the definition box that pops up will get stuck loading and can’t be closed out. So it’s been impossible to create new events or repair prior ones.Has anyone encountered this before or have any suggestions? I’ve tried different browsers, disabling ad-blocker, clearing the browser. I submitted a support ticket but I’m on the free plan so I’m not sure if/when that will get answered. Thanks
Hi folks, We are sharing heap data with other teams. right now we sync heap data out to BigQuery and then the downstream teams will absorb the data from BigQuery. Now the teams who get the data would also like to get the detailed event definition.I put the event definition in the “Notes” section of the event page. Is there any way I can share the event definition with those teams automatically?
Hi,I set up my business account with single sign on my question is how to assign user roles from my SSO?Also, can the new user provisioning happen upon first login from SSO or do I have to manually create user account and send invitation before they can login with their single sign-on credentials? Thanks
Hello HEAP,I am Phuoc, a DevOps Engineer of Auvenir. We’re planning to integrate your product to our application. For now we are facing a concern regarding security that we do not know how to separate access permission when we have multi-environment creation. For example:We have 2 teams, one is the development team and another is the production team. We create 2 environments in the same project, one is DEV environment and another is PROD environment Our expectation is development team is able to access DEV environment only, if possible they can not see PROD environment in any place.Best Regards,Phuoc Truong
I’m trying to find the exact search queries that our users are entering. I just want a table that has a user property and the search terms they input. I can’t for the *life of me* figure out how to get this information out of Heap. I’ve tried creating a snapshot but I can’t get an actual report of the info to know if its even working. I followed the instructions for this specific use-case but I don’t know how to see the information. At a user level I can see event properties that exist with the query and open text information but I can’t figure out how to get them out or see them in a consumable format. I just want to export a csv that has a record for each time a specific event happened, with all the standard event properties AND the custom event properties. Is that possible??
Background...I have a funnel that tracks signups from a landing page. I am testing it out to see if it is working. However, sometimes a user is not captured in the funnel even though I know they went through the flow. Upon investigation, I see them in the sessions clicking all the right buttons/links but for what ever reason they don’t always appear in the funnel. Further, it appears one user is actually duplicated and the association to their ID is lost. What could be causing this behavior?
What are people's thoughts on the rounding up of big numbers? I understand the idea behind it but I think I prefer the accuracy of the whole number. I find myself just tabbing over the table view every time I see a big number so that I can get more detail. I think I would prefer that table view is still the default output for reports that only return one value, and I have to actively change that to a big number for the purposes of dashboarding. Just me?
