I'm working on some chrome extension related project. I wanted to use heap analytics to understand how the users interact with that. But, I'm blocked in the integration step. The extension has strict CSP rules, which do not allow the Heap's script to run. Is it possible to integrate Heap analytics with the Chrome extension?

Hi @Yuvaraj A ,

Hope you are doing well.

Installing Heap on an HTML/JS based extension is feasible, but we do not recommend it for autocapture due to increased risks of capturing Personally Identifiable Information (PII). When dealing with extensions, the potential for autocapturing sensitive data is heightened. Consider an overlay extension that alters the DOM while a user checks their Gmail; the captured information becomes uncertain and primarily relies on the extension's functionality.

However, I would surely recommend that raising this with Heap support - support@heap.io for more details and clarity on the same.

Thanks and Regards,

Preetam
