Managing Tracking for Large DOM Elements

Hi,

We've encountered performance issues in our app due to Heap Analytics tracking a high volume of DOM elements. We're looking for solutions to mitigate this problem:

  1. Exclusion: Can we exclude specific DOM elements from Heap Analytics tracking to reduce the load on our app?

  2. Tracking Control: Is it possible to pause or resume Heap Analytics tracking via the web SDK? This would help us manage tracking on pages with numerous DOM elements.

  3. Dashboard Configuration: Are there settings on the Heap Analytics dashboard that allow us to control or limit tracking for specific pages or elements?

We value accurate data collection but need to ensure our app's performance remains optimal. Any guidance you can provide would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Miguel

Hey @miguelpinto,

We very rarely see any performance impact from correct Heap installations.

I recommend creating a ticket via support@heap.io so that the team can look into the specific issues that you are encountering.
