The power of segments in Heap

When it comes to understanding your users, there are few tools more powerful than user segmentation. Get all sorts of insight into how your product or site is working. The specifics will of course be unique to your product. The more ways you can slice up the data, the more likely you are to stumble onto an underserved segment. See how your site is performing across the user segments that matter to your business. To start breaking your data down and making it more actionable, group your users according to significant characteristics, behaviors, or other attributes. To create your segment, go to Data in the left side menu of Heap. In the next column you will see Segments. Once in the Segment section, you will see Define segment in the upper right. You can use a mix of behavior-based and user properties to create your user segment in Heap. Missing user sessions from Heap

I have users missing from Heap sessions that my team sees in Hotjar and PowerBI. Their last known session in Heap is about a year old. This was discovered after we had seen recordings in Hotjar. I’m concerned that we’re missing sessions from others. Any thoughts on what may be happening?

In my requirement for the Realtime automated Heap Notification Service, If any mobile application user is taking more than 5 minutes between any two consecutive events , I require Heap to send a notification to our customer support team via email, including user details. This allows our customer support team to reach out and provide assistance if needed

Is it possible to disable automatic pageview data capture?

Hi, I’m trying to implement Heap on an SPA site (AngularJs), our team would like to see more information regarding the pages and as a result we’ve had to generate our own page view event. This works and we can see the additional data required by our team, however now we’re getting double data entries for each pageview. Once with the proper data and one that just repeats the landing page data. is it possible do disable the automatic pageview data from being collected?

Heap in Windows (UWP) application

Hello there. Is there a possibility to use Heap in Universal Windows Application (UWP)?There is the SDK for Xamarin (Android & iOS) but it seems there is nothing for UWP. In MAUI it looks the same (https://developers.heap.io/docs/xamarin-quick-start#adding-support-for-net-maui) - only Android and iOS, but nothing about Windows.

iOS Visual Labeling not working with Flutter setup

My engineer has installed heap using Flutter Bridge https://developers.heap.io/docs/flutter-bridge-installation When trying to launch iOS visual labeling, the QR code has no data, and the 4 finger method doesn’t work either. Nothing happens at all in either case. The tool recommends adding the Heap SDK with Swift Package Manager, but my engineer has advised that, because of our setup on Flutter, we have to use Flutter Bridge. Is there a way to make this work? Or is there something I can direct my engineer to do to overcome the issue? Or perhaps there’s something simple that I’m missing. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Viewing Dashboards and Charts on Mobile

I would like to be able to view my dashboards on the go. Unfortunately, heap is not responsive and I can’t really view the dashboards on mobile in a nice way. Is this possible in the near future? Or does anyone know of any workarounds for viewing the data collected in Heap on a different platform? Thanks!

Error messages not being captured until the user clicks on them

I am testing Heap on our website's development environment and I would like to autocapture the error messages that our customers receive as they navigate our website which runs on React.For example, I am simply trying to log into my account with a wrong password and I get this error message on the frontend.While on my Heap live data feed, I am not seeing any error events after the "Submit on form" event.However, when I click on the red error message box, I see the "Click on div.MuiAlert-message.css-7z70p6" event which I think can be recognized as an error event on the backend.Is there a way we can capture errors as events without clicking on the error message box?

Strategy question: How do you track pageviews for multi-page reports

We have several two-page reports. Each page has a unique URL so we can track usage of both pages. When a user opens one of these reports, they are taken to one of the two pages, the report’s landing page. I’m inclined to count views of both tabs as views of the report rather than only count views of the landing page for the report. My reasoning is: users can go to the second page of the report directly through a bookmark or direct link. Only counting the landing page would exclude those users if they don’t also visit the first page of the report during their session. The report views can be broken down by page for deeper analysis. On the flipside, counting both pages of the report means if a user views both pages, it will show up as two views of the report (when looking at total views rather than unique views). I’m curious if others have encountered this type of issue and, if so, how they managed it. Or, how might you handle this type of situation if you have not encountered it before?

How can I duplicate my events & URLs into production

Hi there- I’ve built my Heap events with corresponding URLs in Heap’s Development environment. Is there an easy way for me to duplicate that environment into Production and change the root URLs? For example, all of my pageview & event URLs would ideally change from stage.myproduct.com to production.myproduct.com. Additionally, would the CSS selectors be the same or would I need to re-define all of my events Best, Travis

Form in an iFrame and multiple users + sessions

Hello! I’m attempting to figure out a solution for a site with a 3rd party hosted form (paperform) which gets iframed into our site as a modal. Once they finish and submit the form they are redirected back to our site. I’m hoping that a user’s autogenerated heap id will carry from our site to the 3rd party iFrame. What I am seeing instead is that I have two users in two different sessions. The good news is that the events are being picked up on both our site and the iframed form. So close! I’ve enabled the SecureCookie and passed it as a optional parameter in the `heap.load(‘ID’, { secureCookie: true })`in our site. I’ve done the same in the form host. The 3rd party form host allows you to add scripts but it looks like they are placed outside of the <head> so I’m not sure if that’s the issue or I am misunderstanding what the results will be with the iFrame and secureCookie settings.Thank you for your help and time!
